The basic Rule is that the decoded word has the same amount of letters as the Coded word - with the two having in common the last letter. A Coded word is a word or name in the middle of a sentence with a capital letter. Petrarch is the same person as Jerome (the Catholic "Doctor of the Church").
Petrarch’s first name is Francesco, which shortened version is France - the same amount of letters as Jerome with letter "e" being common as the last letter.
